| of the motor.  Mine was delivered to me and tipped the scales at ~750lbs.  You will need to be able to lift the engine to the same height as whatever van/truck you use.  Then you'll need something under it to allow you to slide it into the truck/van. All of this would be much easier with a proper engine hoist and a pick-up truck.  My motor was set on an old tire which cushioned the oil pan and kept it from getting damaged.  Between that, something propped under each motor mount, and a few well place straps, you should be able to properly secure it for the drive home. If weather is a concern, bring a tarp and wrap the engine up before strapping it down.
